Meet the Artist:
Margo Brault
Hello! I grew up in Alberta, Canada, where I enjoyed exploring the outdoors and drawing animals of every kind. I now live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where my husband and I teach at Louisiana State University.
Since 2023, I have entered art shows at the Art League of Baton Rouge, Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, Louisiana Dept of Wildlife and Fisheries, Baton Rouge Zoo, LSU Vet Med Animals in the Arts Show, and two exhibits with the Associated Women in the Art.
Thank you for exploring my art pieces and learning about animal welfare and the great organizations that have inspired me. There are so many projects to help, so stay tuned as I add more stories and art!
Here I am at an art show put on by the good people at the Art League of Baton Rouge, in May 2024.
The story behind this website
I’ve always loved drawing and painting animals.
One day, while looking for good subjects to paint (always animals), I opened the website of the Louisiana Dept of Wildlife and Fisheries (LADWF) where I discovered a project to reintroduce the endangered Whooping Cranes into the state’s marshlands. Amid the world-wide doom and gloom of COVID, this project was a dose of much needed good news. I determined to share it with more people while also finding a way to help this endangered species.
I reached out to the LADWF with an idea to set up an art show. Luckily, they were very receptive and resourceful. Together we mobilized over 100 artists, and students from all over the state. We raised awareness through multiple media outlets, as well as over $13,800 for the Louisiana Whooping Crane Project.
I like to watch different rescue projects or conservation efforts from all over the world. For example, you may have heard about Ocean Cleanup (https://theoceancleanup.com/), a group of innovative and passionate people working hard to repair the damage we’ve done to the world. Projects like these strengthen my hope in humanity.
There are so many more worthwhile organizations helping the world, but since my expertise is animal art, this site will focus is on organizations dealing with animal welfare and environmental conservation. Below, you will find a list of websites for some of the organizations I want to promote with my art.

As I continue to paint and add to this list, I hope you will take heart from the stories and support some of these organizations.
